Director & Information Officer

Ayanda Cyril Langa

Founder | Director | Information Officer
Financial Conduct Research (FCR)

Ayanda Cyril Langa is the Founder, Director and Information Officer of Financial Conduct Research (FCR), providing strategic leadership across the organisation's financial conduct research, forensic assessment, consumer-protection and information-governance functions.

His work is centred on the principle that consumers should be able to understand how their financial affairs have been administered and, where concerns arise, have access to a structured, evidence-based process for examining the underlying records.

Through FCR, Ayanda oversees matters involving credit agreements, account histories, payment allocation, debt-review processes, financial disputes, market-conduct concerns and consumer complaints. His approach places particular emphasis on documentary evidence, account reconciliation, procedural fairness and responsible engagement with financial institutions and other relevant stakeholders.

As FCR's Information Officer, he also oversees the organisation's approach to privacy, personal-information governance, PAIA and POPIA compliance, recognising the sensitivity of the financial and personal information entrusted to FCR.

Leadership Philosophy

Ayanda's leadership of FCR is built around three principles:

Clarity. Accountability. Justice.

These principles guide FCR's commitment to:

  • conducting assessments objectively and without predetermined conclusions;
  • distinguishing verified facts from allegations or matters requiring further investigation;
  • helping consumers understand complex financial records and processes;
  • engaging institutions professionally and on the strength of available evidence;
  • maintaining confidentiality and responsible information handling; and
  • promoting accountability while respecting lawful processes and the rights of all parties.

A Message from the Director

“Financial disputes are rarely resolved by assumptions. They require evidence, proper documentation and a clear understanding of what actually happened. FCR exists to help bring that clarity to consumers and to encourage accountable, evidence-based engagement between consumers and financial institutions.”
— Ayanda Cyril Langa
